The world is full of clutter. Whether it’s clutter in physical form or mental distractions, they are all known to cause stress. Stress has been linked to poor overall well-being and even degenerative diseases.

Ismail Sirdah, a well-known photographer, understands the importance of meditation in one’s mental and physical health. Being an avid fan of meditation, he enjoys spending time looking for scenic spots in the US as well as international locations.

In this post, Mr. Sirdah shares his favorite travel spots, both locally and internationally, to find your spiritual self.

Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa

Table Mountain is a distinct landmark located in Ismail Sirdah’s hometown, Cape Town. This particular mountain has a flat plateau shape and is known to the locals as the best places to view the whole city. According to Mr. Sirdah, this is a great place to feel rejuvenated because of the beautiful contrast of the brownish-black mountain and clear skies. Tourists often go to Table Mountain for a hiking or cable car experience.

If you want an immersive tour to discover your spiritual self in Table Mountain, it is best to go on a trip by foot to see, hear, and smell the nature that surrounds the whole park. Mr. Sirdah has been to this national park several times, and he attests to the beauty and wildlife that allowed him to seek peace.

Ko Samui, Thailand

Another or Mr. Sirdah’s favorite countries to visit is Thailand. The culinary experience is one of the things he always looks forward to when visiting this country, as well as the tropical spots such as Ko Samui.

Ko Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island, and it is known for its palm beaches and mountain forests. It is one of the places where you can have two scenic spots in one–enjoy the pristine waters of the coast or listen to the ambient sounds of the rainforests.

There are many resorts to choose from in Ko Samui, but Mr. Sirdah’s favorite is the Ritz-Carlton Ko Samui. It is a 5-star luxury resort where he often visits to feel connected to his spiritual side. The resort has several relaxing amenities such as on-site spas, spectacular pools, and beachfront activities that helped him find serenity.

Fiordland National Park, New Zealand

Third on Ismail Sirdah’s list and also one of his favorite scenic spots is Fiordland National Park in New Zealand. An international couple asked for prenup photos in this spectacular view, and Mr. Sirdah was mesmerized by the mountain ranges’ beauty located in New Zealand’s South Island.

What he loved most about this park is the clearness of the lakes mirroring the mountains, which made him reflect on his present and future life. This picturesque site, he believes, brings him into a contemplative state, which is ideal for those who want to find their spiritual selves.

Aside from the lakes and mountains, visitors can also follow a forest trail for either a relaxing or adventurous experience.

Hamilton Pool Preserve, Texas

Next on Mr. Sirdah’s list and also a local spot is the Hamilton Pool Preserve. The Hamilton Pool Preserve is a result of an underground river collapsing thousands of years ago due to eruption. Now, it is considered one of the most beautiful looking natural pools where you can hear the flowing water and feel an immense sense of tranquility.

Ismail Sirdah went to visit Austin, Texas for a model shoot. After the shoot, he was recommended by his colleagues to visit the Hamilton Pool Preserve, which is 23 miles from the center of the city. He believes that it is one of the most breathtaking water forms he has seen around the country, with its unique dome-shaped rock formation overlooking the clear sky. Tourists here come to swim, take pictures, or marvel at Hamilton Pool’s natural beauty.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Last but not least, Mr. Sirdah recommends people to visit the Grand Canyon at least once in their lives. He often visits this national park, especially during travel photography sessions for couples and families.

Every time he visits, he is always at awe at the grandeur of the canyon formations. The colors of green, gray, orange and brown all blend perfectly together, matching the sunset that appears over the horizon. Afternoons are the perfect time to visit the Grand Canyon because of the cooler temperatures and a more relaxing ambiance. Mr. Sirdah recommends visiting the Bright Angel Point at the national park for the most stunning views for meditation as well.

Traveling is an enriching experience not only for the adrenaline rush it brings but also for finding peace and tranquility. Mr. Sirdah hopes that this list will provide you with insights on what places to visit to find your spiritual side.
